Oddly enough, Mississippi State strolled into
Death Valley
with a pep in their step and simply bullied the LSU Tigers to an
impressive 34-29 win. LSU came into the gameranked eighth in the
nation, but the Bulldogs were obviously not intimidated. This upset is
easily the most impactful of the young college football season, and for
the SEC title race.Preston Smith Sets New Record

Mississippi State senior Preston Smith became the first player in Southeastern Conference history to be named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week for three-straight weeks.
Smith picked up the nod again after tying a career high with two sacks this past Saturday in State’s 35-3 victory at South Alabama. The defensive end also blocked a field goal and forced a fumble.
