Kentucky Escapes in Double Overtime to Remain Unbeaten

Tyler Ulis made a 3-pointer late in a second overtime to help No. 1 Kentucky edge host Texas A&M, 70-64, on Saturday. The score was tied at 63-63 when Ulis made the shot for his first points of the game.

Kentucky (15-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) was coming off an overtime win over Mississippi on Tuesday.

Kentucky basketball freshman James Young never gave up in win over Cleveland State

Even when the shots weren’t falling, James Young didn’t give up.

Young didn’t score a basket in the first half of third-ranked Kentucky’s 68-61 triumph over Cleveland State Monday night at Rupp Arena. He was 0-4 from the field in the first 20 minutes but came through in the second half. Young finished with nine points, grabbed five rebounds, had three assists and a block.

So there we have it, a middle of the road SEC contest between two teams in certain need of a win. We like Mississippi State because they have more weapons than Kentucky does. Or at least it seems that way.
